The mill was built at the time of the Saracens. Unfortunately, through the ages, it underwent partial destruction. After many years, it was converted, using wind power, to bring water to the village.

The turbine operated by a wind pump, raised water to an impressive pool built at the bottom of the castle. In 1924, the mill was abandoned following the installation of electricity in the village.

In 1967 it was rebuilt on the model of Alphonse Daudet's windmill.
